You buy from a supplier we have vetted
Traders, importers and fleet owners buy equipment through UNIMA that has been written off in Europe or North America. We make sure the counterparty is sound, and take everything after the purchase off your hands.
A circle of certified suppliers
Every supplier has been vetted by UNIMA before being allowed to supply: registration in the commercial register, company history and the condition of equipment supplied previously. A supplier does not simply become a member — he must first prove himself. What you buy therefore comes from a party with a name at stake.
Supply that is not advertised
Our suppliers are haulage companies, contractors and rental firms in Europe and North America replacing their fleet. They do not advertise: they want one buyer who takes the lot, without viewings and without negotiating with dozens of parties. You see that supply before it appears elsewhere — and often it never appears there at all.
A selection, not a search engine
You set out once what you trade in: categories, makes, build years, price range and destination market. Twice a week you receive what matches, and nothing else. If there is no suitable supply, we send no message. So there is nothing for you to trawl through.
The process after the purchase off your hands
Road transport to the port, export documents, inspection, customs formalities and shipment are arranged by the co-operative. The costs are fixed in advance, not afterwards. Your payment moreover goes to a client account and is released only when the documents and the vehicle are in order.
How you are admitted
Nobody becomes a member of the co-operative straight away. That holds for buyers just as much as for suppliers — and it is precisely what gives both sides certainty.
1 · Application and vetting
You complete your trading profile. We assess purchasing intent, volume, destination market and suitability. Within two working days you will hear whether you qualify.
2 · Trial period as an Associate Member
If you are accepted, you begin as an Associate Member. There you buy your first units — a limited number, under the supervision of the co-operative.
3 · Affiliated Member and Member
If those transactions run well — payment on time, collection as agreed — after at least four transactions and six months the way is open to Affiliated Member, with lower transaction fees and the full supply.
Through UNIMA, or searching yourself
The full procedure, with a worked example, is set out on How it works.
The three memberships
Everyone pays in advance, always. The difference lies in what you see, how wide your search profile runs and what you pay per transaction.
Admission to Affiliated Member requires at least four completed transactions, at least six months of membership and approval by the Membership Committee. You may remain an Associate Member indefinitely. Condition at every level: commercial resale, not own use.
Ready to apply for admission?
The form is your search profile straight away: what you enter determines which selection you receive twice a week. No obligation — you choose a membership only after your application has been assessed.
