Using the mark

The rules for members who carry the mark. Pass this page to your designer.

What you receive

On admission you receive the Unima Verified Buyer or Unima Verified Supplier mark, with a year seal and a unique certificate number, plus a certificate in your name carrying that number.

What you may do with it

Every member may carry the mark on their website, in their e-mail signature and on social media. From the second tier onwards also in print and exhibition material; at the third tier additionally on building signage and company vehicles. The number of named certificates you may issue to third parties rises with your tier.

Rules

The mark is not distorted, recoloured, partially used or built into another logo. Keep clear space around it of at least the height of the letter U. The year seal belongs with it and shows the current year; an expired seal may not be displayed. The certificate number may not be removed or altered.

The mark is never placed so that it suggests the co-operative endorses your company, your products or your prices. It says that you yourself have been vetted. It says nothing about units you trade outside the co-operative, and may not be used alongside them.

Validity and withdrawal

The right runs with your membership. The year seal rolls over on renewal as long as your rating holds up. It lapses immediately on termination of membership, on non-payment, on a persistently low rating, on a dispute decided against you, and on demonstrably false declarations. Once it lapses you remove the mark from all your material, digital and physical, within thirty days.

Why this is strict

A mark that cannot be withdrawn proves nothing. That it can be taken away from you is exactly what makes it worth something to your bank and your customers.
