Privacy statement
What UNIMA does with your data, and what it does not. Last updated 14 September 2026.
Who processes your data
Unima Co-operative is the controller for the data described below. You can raise any privacy question through the contact form.
What we process
From applicants and members: company name, registration number, country, name and role of the contact person, e-mail address, telephone or WhatsApp number, language, the categories you trade in, your destination market, and the records of your transactions with us.
From companies we approach: company name, country, a general contact detail and, where publicly available, the name and role of a contact person. That data comes from public trade registers, chambers of commerce, trade associations, procurement portals, exhibitor lists and publicly accessible company websites.
From visitors to this site: whatever you enter in a form, plus the technical data needed to serve the site. We set no tracking cookies and use no advertising networks.
Why, and on what basis
Assessing your application and carrying out a transaction rests on our agreement with you. Approaching companies that may benefit from our service rests on legitimate interest: these are business contacts, in a business context, with an offer that matches their activity. Customs, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations we carry out because the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Applications that do not lead to admission are kept briefly. Transaction records and customs documents are kept for as long as tax and customs law requires. Data on companies we approached is deleted once it is clear no cooperation will follow, or earlier on request.
Who we share it with
Only parties needed to deliver the service: inspection bodies, freight forwarders and shipping lines, customs authorities, the party holding the client account, and our accountant. We do not sell data. Buyers see only anonymised attributes of a supplier; a supplier company name is never shown.
Transfers outside the European Union
To carry out a transaction we necessarily share data with parties outside the European Economic Area, such as customs agents in the destination country. We limit this to what is needed and record it in a processing agreement where possible.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Contact us and you will hear from us within a month. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Unsubscribing
Every message from us carries an opt-out. Anyone who opts out is removed from our records, not just from one campaign.
